Discover a world of endless possibilities with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a distinguished global academic publisher and assessment organisation proudly affiliated with the prestigious University of Cambridge.     We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our UK Education Finance business partnering team.  The role will be pivotal in supporting the Finance Business Partnering team with a variety of tasks that will contribute to the smooth delivery of annual financial planning cycle.  This role will provide insight through data analysis and deep investigation, enabling the business to deliver their strategic financial goals.        What will you do as a Finance Analyst?    As a Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for running regular reports to support the delivery of the month-end financial results.  You will be preparing and collating the return of financial and resource information from business colleagues to deliver forecasts, budgets and the 3-year plans.      You will also be expected to: 
  • Prepare working papers to support detailed calculations of product and resource forecasts and budgets.   
  • Investigating historical and current trends in income and costs to evaluate financial performance and reporting on contributing factors.  
  • Preparing audit schedules to support external audit process. 
  • Work closely with the finance business partnering team to establish robust processes and procedure notes  
  • Maintain the delivery of the financial planning cycle 
  •     

    Qualification

    What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?    You will be an ideal candidate if you have the following: 
  • Partial or full professional qualification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
  • Degree in accounting or equivalent.  
  • Proven working experience as a finance analyst. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Query and Power BI skills are advantageous).  
  • Proficiency in using accounting and resource systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Success Factors).  
  • Good working knowledge of finance procedures and experience of using a major finance computer system (SAP / BPC). 
  • Experience in reviewing and investigating large data sets.  
  • Meticulous attention to detail and natural curiosity and eagerness to learn 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills  
  • Ability to work individually and/or with a team. 
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and deadlines.
