Even without direct line reports, you will be supporting the leads in influencing the team members within the group. With a focus on continuous delivery, you will belong to an agile team that creates secure, scalable, reusable, elegant and lovable solutions.   We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Education Technology Development Team. As a key member of our team, your goal will be to develop solutions for platforms used by learners across the globe. You will also be mainly involved in communicating these to the teams we work with on a daily basis.    Your responsibilities will include:
  • Take the lead in the familiarization of our applications and develop expertise on the technologies that our team are using.
  • Spearhead the achieving of our unit test coverage goals and accessibility requirements and proactively work with Solutions Engineers, Software Engineers, and QAs to resolve defect/issues and help support the leads with any technical challenges for the project.

    Qualification

    What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?   The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post:  
  • You have a good technical degree or equivalent experience and a firm grasp on the foundational concepts of software engineering (i.e., design analysis and algorithms, OOP, SOA).
  • Proficiency in version control systems (i.e., Github, GitLab, SVN)
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative style, troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Demonstrable understanding and professional experience in software development principles (i.e., SOLID & DRY) and the elements of SDLC in a commercial environment.
  • Advance coding and software development skills (Typescript, VueJs, NodeJS, tslint / IntelliJ liniting, Prittier, Docker, Terraform)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in leading by influence with demonstrable leadership capabilities
  • Expertise in leveraging on AWS (S3, RDS - Postgres, OpenSearch, ECS, Fargate, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager)
