We are looking for a Software Engineer who will be part of our Education Technology Development Team in Manila. The role will play a key role in creating and developing solutions for platforms used by learners across the globe. The Manila hub is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

What will you do as a Software Engineer?
In this role, you will be focusing on creating solutions for our global eLearning platforms, with particular focus on being able to continuously deliver secure, scalable, reusable and lovable solutions.
The main role of a Software Engineer is to develop, build, and maintain software applications while adhering to the best practices and standards being observed by the Development Team.
Develop familiarization on our applications and expertise on the technologies that our team are using.
Develop solutions to the development tasks (new features, bugs, and system enhancements) that the team is handling while adhering to best practices and software development principles
Create Unit Tests and comply with Accessibility requirements for our sites.
Work closely with Solutions Engineers, Software Engineers, and QAs to resolve defect/issues.
Contribute towards ways of improving quality and collaboration.
Provide support to the rest of the Agile team to timely deliver the commitments agreed by the team with our Stakeholders.
Qualification
What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
The ideal candidate should have a good technical degree or equivalent experience and a firm grasp on the foundational concepts of software engineering (i.e., design analysis and algorithms, Object Oriented Programming, SOA).

You will be the ideal candidate if you enjoy working in a fast-based environment and being able to work with different stakeholders in a problem-solving capacity
In addition, experience, knowledge, or expertise in the following are essential:
Knowledge of version control systems (i.e., Github, GitLab, SVN)
Excellent communication skills, collaborative style, troubleshooting and debugging skills
Demonstrable understanding of software development principles (i.e., SOLID & DRY) and the elements of SDLC in a commercial environment.
Good coding skills and professional experience in software development (Typescript, Vue JS, NodeJS, tslint / IntelliJ liniting, Prittier, Docker)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
Knowledge and professional experience in AWS (S3, RDS - Postgres, OpenSearch, ECS, Fargate, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager)
