1965 :   Foundation of INAIS through House Bill No _____ and approved by the House of Representatives on June 1965 with the efforts of the late Congressman Rafael B. Legaspi.

1971 :   Approval of R.A. 4486 - Establishment of IBAJAY NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL and the initial operation was managed by Mr. Manuel R. Remaneses, School Principal, at Ibajay Central School

1973 : Permanently relocated in the slopping hills of Brgy. Colongcolong, one (1) kilometer from Poblacion, Ibajay, Aklan with total land area of  20.0427 hectares and its geographical location is 11.8166 latitude and 122.833 longtitude

1976 :  Approval of the offering of Two-Year Post Secondary Technician Course in Agriculture by Juan L. Manuel, Secretary of Education and Culture.

1977 :  Approval to offer the following courses by Narciso Albaracin, Undersecretary, Department of Education and Culture.

  1.  Two-Year Fishery Technology specializing Fish Capture, Fish Culture and Fish Preservation.
  2. Two-Year Farm Mechanics
  3. Two-Year Trade Technician Curriculum with specialization in Building Construction and Furniture & Cabinet Making
  4. Two-Year Homemaking Technician
  5. Two-Year Associate in Agriculture

1978 :  Mr. Samuel C. Ruzgal served as Officer-In-Charge in lieu of Mr. Remaneses during his schooling at UPLB until 1981.

1986 :   Mr. Samuel C. Ruzgal served as Officer-In-Charge upon the promotion Manuel R. Remaneses as Superintendent at San Enrique Agricultural College, San Enrique, Iloilo.

1987 :   Mr. Renato Z. Gepty took over the administration of INAIS as Vocational School Administrator later on became the School Superintendent.

1994 :  Converted INAIS to Western Aklan Polytechnic College through the leadership of Dr. Renato Z. Gepty, and the efforts of former Mayor Florencio T. Miraflores, DECS Regional Director Servillano C. Dela Cruz, Jr. Dr. Pedro L. Esteban, Atty. Ramon A. Tirol, the late PTCA Pres. Hon. Pedro S. Maglantay, and other concerned citizens in the Municipality of Ibajay. The conversion of the school to a college was made possible by Cong. Allen S. Quimpo.

1996 :  CHED Order No 16, s. 1996 – Granted authority to offer the BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION major in Mathematics, Filipino, General Science and English and BACHELOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION Courses effective School year 1995 – 1996 by Angel C. Alcala, Chairman, Commission on Higher Education.

          :   CHED Order No. 19, s. 1996 – Granted authority to offer the BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURE course effective School Year 1996 – 1997 by Angel C. Alcala, Chairman Commission on Higher Education.

          :  Approval of the offering of Two-Year Computer Programming and Computer Secretarial in consortium with M & M’s Computer Center by Teresita C. Celebrado, Interim Assistant Regional Director, TESDA, Region VI – Western Visayas.

1997 :  CHED Order No. 15, s. 1997 – Granted authority to offer the BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HOTEL AND RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT course effective Academic Year 1997 – 1998 by Mona D. Valisno, Commissioner and OIC, Office of the Chairman, Commission on Higher Education.

          :  Mrs. Helen U. Navarra, Faculty Member, awarded the 1997 Search for Outstanding Teachers – Technical Vocational Level by the Metrobank Foundation.

2001 :  WAPC was integrated to Aklan State College of Agriculture (in implementation of CHED Memo Order No. 19 s. 1999, June 1, 1999 and CHED Order No. 27 s. 2000 – August 22, 2000) which later became the Aklan State University by virtue of R.A. 9055. The college was named ASU-School of Rural Resource Development and Management.

          :  Mrs. Helen U. Navarra received the GURONG PATNUBAY AWARD for Year 2001 by the Philippine Association of Agriculture Education, Inc.

2002:   Prof. Jesus R. Navarra was designated as OIC upon the retirement of Dr. Renato Z. Gepty. and later became the Dean until 2006.

2004 :    Miss Arlene S. Moises a graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education ranked Top Ten in Licensure Examination for Teacher given by the Professional Regulation Commission.

          :   Approval of the offering of the Ladderized Curriculum course on the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science through ASU-BOR Res. No. 24 - 11 – 2004, effective AY 2004 – 2005

2006 :   Former ASU Vice President for Administration, Prof. Theodore R. Rowan took over as the new Dean and became Executive Director until December 2010

           :   Approval of  the offering the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Program through ASU-BOR Resolution No. S2 - 05 - 2006. 

2008 :   The Aklan State University – School of Rural Resource Development and Management was converted to ASU - College of Hospitality and Rural Resource Management through ASU - BOR Res. No. 32-12 s. 2008.

           :  Approval of the offering of BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE course effective Academic Year 2008 – 2009 through ASU – BOR Res. No. 30-08, s. 2008

2010 :  With the untimely death of the Executive Director Prof. Theodore R. Rowan, Dr. Roberto L. Saladar took over as OIC of the College and later become the Executive Director.

2012 :  The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP), Inc. and the action as follows:

          :   The English Society an organization of English students of ASU – Ibajay was adjudged as Runner Up for TEN ACCOMPLISHED YOUTH ORGANIZATION (TAYO) in Malacañang Palace.
