Data Engineer

Job Description

  • Experienced in supporting SQL Server hosted in the AWS cloud.
  • The candidate needs to be proficient in SQL Server security, data replication, disaster recovery and TSQL scripts / procedures.
  • The candidate should have experience in troubleshooting issues that impact the performance and / or availability of the SQL Server service.
  • Experience working with AWS, Gitlab and Snowflake is desirable.
  • The candidate will join the Data Engineering team, which is responsible for the availability, performance, securityand maintenance of Veson’s SQL Server, Snowflake and MongoDB databases and datareplication pipelines.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working collaboratively in a technically complex environment, effectively using spoken and written English to communicate
  • technical concepts.

    • Qualification

    • 2 to 5 years working with SQL Server functionality
    • Proficient in the following areas:
    o TSQL syntax and best practices to code and debug scripts and stored procedures.
    o SQL Server access control
    o SQL Server database backup and restore, including point in time
    o Log shipping
    Nice to have skills:
    • Resolution of issues impacting performance and / or availability of the SQL Server
    service.
    • AWS S3, DMS, EC2.
    • Gitlab
    • Snowflake
    • MongoD
