Site Nurse

Job Description

Render Medical Treatment Tasks: ·           Evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines ·           Administer first-aid treatment and provide medication for employees with injuries or illness; Recommend even further steps in the employees’ treatment plans ·           Operate various equipment and machine for emergency situations, response and airway management Promote Safe and Healthy Environment Tasks: ·           Work as educators in the project site to promote healthy living and best practices. ·           Develop health education and disease management programs that encourage workers to take responsibility for their own health ·           Raise awareness of lifestyle choices that can contribute to diseases ·           Counsel workers on issues such as substance abuse and educate employers and employees on health and wellness in the workplace. ·           Appraise the work environment and the risks of exposure, identify possible risk sources and recommend safeguards. ·           Evaluate workplaces for any potential dangers that may cause health problems ·           Collaborate with outside resources for program development, such as healthcare providers, third party administrators, legal advisors, medical director, regulatory agencies, etc. ·           Comply with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment. Health Monitoring Tasks: ·           Interpret and document worker’s medical complaints using medical histories and diagnostic tests. ·           Investigate and analyse injury trends, research possible occupational hazards and collaborate with safety teams and managers. Records and Reporting Tasks: ·           Manage medical records, create emergency workplace preparedness plans and evaluate health care delivery systems. ·           Respond to emergency cases within the workplace and prepare appropriate incident report ·           Collect all data and statistics regarding health standards, medical audits and injury regarding injury reporting ·           Assist with the accident investigation program to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses ·           Coordinate and inform Health, Safety and Environment Department on major injuries and cases attended ·           Prepare weekly and monthly first aid report including man-hour lost, lost-time accident, medicine consumptions, medicine stocks and medicine requisition. Inventory Management Tasks: ·           Ensure ordering, safe storage, inventory and monitoring of medical supplies, aids and equipment, ensure economic usage and availability at all times ·           Identify and plan clinical materials, supplies and equipment that are required and raise requisition when needed. ·           Maintain adequate level of stocks of approved supplies and medicines ·           Administer and dispense medications as appropriate from approved list of medications and with proper instructions on how to take it.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Professional License, Passed the Board Examination
  • COSH /BOSH Certification
  • Total relevant experience: ~ 3 years
  • Knowledge DOLE safety procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of theory, principles, practices and techniques
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication
  • Skill in applying professional nursing methods and techniques
